Darleen's Story

Life Met and married a very interesting, wonderful guy and learned how to hunt. Became the first female California Varmit Caller State Champion. Since I worked for Western Airlines, we hunted in Alaska several times. Then came our daughter. End of hunting! Lived in West Garden Grove, Ca for 30 years. My husband was a LA City Fireman and we also own a 50 acre gold mine in No. Calif. I love photography and take way too many photos. Have stayed in touch with good friends from MHS (Arlene, Helaine, Lee, Barbara, Heather and Suzy). We moved to NV 12 years ago. Love it here. We have seasons, which I am not used to. Southern California had nice weather all the time. We were very involved in Sprint Car Racing while in CA and really miss the weekly races and our racing friends. aughter. Became a full time mom and loved it. Then when she was in junior high, we bought her a horse and I went back to work. This was in the real estate field (escrow, loan processor). My last job in Orange County was with Del Monte Foods. When we moved to Nevada, I retired for one year then became an antique dealer. I am in a mall and have 2 booths. This summer, I put alot of my high school clothes in my booth for Hot August Nights. A big 50's event in Reno. I still have the Ballard and Brocket outfits though. Pack rat? Na, just save everything. Doesn't everyone keep their high school clothes? Oh, and I put my 8' surf board up for sale too. Love to shop! Added information 9/2021.....My wonderful husband of 53 years, passed away last year. 2020....Horrible year. Now a new life starts. Luckily I have a Wonderful Daughter!!!
